Beautiful Butterfly is the fortieth episode of Chloe's Closet for Season 2, and the ninety-second episode overall.
Plot
The episode begins with Chloe pretending to be a pirate on her bed with Lovely Carrot, while Tara on the other hand, imagines herself as a mermaid invited aboard the pirate ship. During their play, Carys enters to deliver her good news: her mother is expecting a baby sister. While Chloe congratulates her, Tara finds the news terrible, though Carys admits to having mixed feelings about the upcoming change. As she wonders about this, Chloe's closet lights up for dress-up time. While Tara hopes they will be mermaids, Chloe instead informs her that they're going to be pixies again for the day.
Chloe, Tara and Carys are then transported to their fantasy in a small garden, where Tara happily flies about in all places, just as she spots a ladybird flying nearby. The gang soon follows along in her direction, with Lovely Carrot especially encouraging them to move along with looking where he is going along in, causing him to crash into a sunflower that sends him flying backwards onto a cricket. Upon greeting him and knowing how talented crickets are, Chloe requests for him to play some music, which he does so on his violin. Nearby, a caterpillar also enjoys the performance and cheers on, catching in the gang's attention. From there, he invites them to play a game of "Follow the Leader" with him, where he leads the gang about the garden. Just as he concludes, he soon realizes his lunch meeting with Keira, and quickly rolls off. As soon as he heaves, the gang notices a large sandwich being dragged across towards them with a funny voice, which is revealed to have come from an ant, who shoos them off at first as he struggles to carry the sandwich on his own. However, he does still accept Chloe's help, as the gang assist him to carry the sandwich up. However, they still have to bring it over to the ant hill and into the hole, which they proceed on as they fly up and shove the sandwich into the hole. After thanking them for their help, the ant jumps into his hole to eat, just as the gang hears Kurt's voice calling out for Kiera.
From there, the gang flies over to meet Kurt once again, where he still has not found Kiera yet in her house. Kurt then describes over to the gang of what Keira looks like, which basically is very identical to his looks. Keeping this in mind, the gang soon flies off to find Kiera, only that they soon realize Kurt's inability to fly and carry him over up a tree to start the search. However, they find no sign of a caterpillar up there, so Chloe asks Kurt the other locations that Keira could be at, one of which could be her favorite mushroom patch down below. After flying down, they continue the search there, but still find no sign of Kiera. With Kurt being a lot more confused at the sudden absence of Kiera, Chloe decides that it would be best for him to look back at the tree once more to be sure, which they proceed ahead.
Back at the tree, the gang takes one more closer search for her, but still finds no sight of her still. During which, they start to hear some flapping noises, and suspects that it could be Kiera, which soon leads them over to a chrysalis, much to their fascination. After being explained by Chloe and Lovely Carrot as to what it is, Tara and Carys are excited over the fact that Kiera will be a butterfly soon, but Kurt is unsure of this. Soon enough, the chrysalis begins to shake more vigorously, and eventually breaks open to reveal Kiera herself, now transformed into a butterfly. Upon witnessing this, Kurt is initially shocked and speechless about this. Despite being convinced by his best friend on how it will be great to be a butterfly, Kurt is resistant of going through this change. Eventually, with the gang's help and convincing, Kurt becomes a lot more convinced and is hence ready to anticipate himself turning into a butterfly.
Back in Chloe's room, the gang continues to pretend to fly, and Carys even plans to teach her new baby how to do the same as well. During which, Chloe's father comes in and Chloe comes forward to tell him about their adventure. Upon the mention of butterflies, Chloe's father even points out having found some butterflies himself in the yard, and invites the gang to go and see them as well. Before leaving with the others, Chloe tells Lovely Carrot on how her love keeps growing bigger each day, and gives him a warm hug.

Trivia
- This episode marks the following:
- The last overall episode to feature the dress up theme of fairies, as well as the only other such episode to feature Carys, with her first being "To Bee or Not to Bee", which is coincidentally the first such episode in that season to feature this theme.
- This is also the only such episode to feature Chloe's Father, and to not feature Chloe's Mother, due to her absence in this episode.
- The only episode to tackle on the moral of adapting to new changes.
- The last and only Season 2 episode to cover the concept of directions, as well as the only such episode to feature Carys and Chloe's Father.
- It is also the last and only other such episode to feature Tara, with her first being "Braking Away".
- Furthermore, it is the only such episode not to feature Jet and Chloe's Mother, due to their absence in this episode.
- The first appearances of Kurt the Caterpillar, Kiera the Butterfly and the Ladybug, as well as their first of only two appearances in the series, with the other being "Budding Ballerinas". As such, this episode also marks their only speaking/notable roles in the series, as well as the only time where they appear with Carys.
- The sole appearance of the Cricket.
- The last appearance of the Ant, as well as his only other appearance, with the first being "Race for Fun". This is also the only time where he appears with Tara.
- The only episode where Kiera appears on the tittle card.
- The last episode where Tara has somewhat of a costume on outside of the dress up adventures. There, she wears a princess tiara and pretends to be a mermaid with it.
- On that note, this is the last and only other episode (and the only Season 2 episode) where mermaids are predicted as a dress up theme in an episode, with the first being "Get Your Kicks". Furthermore, that is a role that Tara has previously been in with Chloe in various episodes beforehand during the dress up adventures, leaving Carys as the only main character to not experience this dress up theme.
- The last of two Season 2 episode where the theme of pirates is predicted/seen in the real life scenarios, with the first being "I Scream For Ice Cream".
- However, Carys has never fulfilled that role in the dress up adventures at all and the closest that she has gotten to that would be a cruise ship member in "Singing at Sea". Furthermore, she has also appeared in both such episodes in the season where this occurs.
- The first of two episodes in Season 2 where a variation of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is sung, with the other being "Budding Ballerinas".
- As such, this also marks the first of two times that Tara performs this song.
- This also marks the only time that Carys and a character voiced by Jade Yourell performs this song as well.
- The last episode where John McGuinness serves as a location designer.
- The last episode where Patrick Rabbette serves as a character designer.
- The last episode where Shaun Gallagher serves as a props and VFX designer, although he would continue on for the rest of this season as a character designer.
- The last overall episode to feature the dress up theme of fairies, as well as the only other such episode to feature Carys, with her first being "To Bee or Not to Bee", which is coincidentally the first such episode in that season to feature this theme.
- Chloe's Mother is mentioned, but not seen in this episode.
