The Tale of the Mixed-Up Dragon is the eighteenth episode of Chloe's Closet for Season 2, and the seventieth episode overall.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Chloe and Jet preparing for a pretend excursion. After figuring out the correct way to read the map, Chloe leads the way, climbing onto her bed as if it were a mountain. They then use a pair of binoculars to search for Soggy, who is dubbed here as a world-famous flying frog. Jet attempts to set up their tent but struggles to open it. With Chloe's help, he manages to unfold the tent, though it looks odd to him. Although Chloe suggests asking her father for help, Jet insists on figuring it out himself. During this time, Chloe's closet lights up, signaling dress-up time. As Jet wonders if they'll be explorers, Chloe reveals that they'll be in their own fairy tale again, where she is going to be a princess, and Jet is a knight for the day.
Chloe and Jet are then transported to their fantasy, arriving in front of a large castle. Chloe knocks on the door to enter, where a field mouse then pops out to greet them requesting invitations, which they don't have. He proceeds to close the door, but Chloe notices a scroll on Jet's belt and suspects it is their invitation. She tries again, showing the scroll to the field mouse, who finally allows them into the castle. Inside, they prepare to greet the Queen in her courtyard, and the field mouse reminds them to watch their heads. This confuses them until they see a large pink dragon swooping overhead with a red flag. Lovely Carrot shields them and hurries them to the Queen before they encounter anything else. The Queen then officially welcomes them to her castle for the annual Catch the Flag Tournament. After a loud trumpet fanfare, it is revealed that the dragon they saw earlier will be Chloe's mount for the tournament. As Chloe approaches the dragon, Lovely Carrot tries to dissuade her, but Chloe reassures him. Still, Lovely Carrot ensures she boards safely before they take flight. During their flight, Chloe spots a pink flag and manages to grab it, placing it in the dragon's pouch. Upon landing back in the courtyard, Jet is impressed and wonders if he'll have his own dragon. The Queen confirms he will, but his dragon (a red one) has yet to arrive. The pink dragon then offers to help the Queen look for him and invites Jet to join the search. With everyone ready, they take off, flying into the skies.
After some time, the group arrives at Red Dragon's cave, where he is carrying out a pile of potatoes to prepare a salad with other collected vegetables (which he mistakes for fruit). He is surprised to see the Pink Dragon and realizes that he has forgotten about the tournament while searching for salad ingredients for his mother. Chloe then offers Red Dragon help finding more fruit for his salad, and Jet rides aboard him. While Chloe and Jet enjoy the flight, Lovely Carrot struggles with the height, mostly covering his eyes and losing sight of them along the way. Eventually, the dragons stop at a carrot patch, where Red Dragon pulls out a bunch of carrots for his salad (mistaking them for orange fruit). However, after Chloe corrects him, Red Dragon tries to brush off his mistake but eventually confesses he doesn't know the difference between fruits and vegetables. Chloe offers to teach him, which he appreciates. As they collect fruit, Chloe, Jet, and the Pink Dragon teach him about the unusual shapes of fruits from her world, and they return to the cave to place them in his large bowl. After Red Dragon thanks them for their help, Chloe adds the final touch to the salad with a banana, which Red Dragon eats.
Eventually, they return back to the castle for the tournament, where a batch of flags are released for the dragons to catch along the way. By the end of the tournament, Chloe and the Pink Dragon wins and are handed their ribbons by the Queen. As Jet congratulates her, one of the Skunk trumpeters prepare to blow a victory note, but finds something stuck, which turns out to be Lovely Carrot, who was curious to find out where the flags came from to begin with.
Back in Chloe's room, Chloe and Jet resume their camping game, with Jet now suggesting that they ask Chloe's father for help this time. Chloe's father just so happens to come in at this moment, and Chloe tells him about their adventure, while also seeking his help to get their tent set up. Chloe's father offers to do so, but gets to have some lunch first, consisting of sandwiches and fruit salad, the latter which gets the two to joke to him about the unusual fruit shapes they have seen earlier. Before joining Jet, Chloe sticks around to complement Lovely Carrot as her favorite flying friend.
